About Me

Loving Your Little Landscape

I have never been a natural gardener. For years, I struggled to keep basic houseplants alive, only to kill them at the first opportunity. It was difficult and stressful to buy a home with a yard, but I knew that I might be able to learn what I was doing wrong and correct the problem. To start off, I focused heavily on the lawn, and tried hard to keep it trimmed and well-maintained. Next, I cleaned up the flowerbeds. It was a lot of work, but I knew that it would pay off in the end. When I was done, my front yard was gorgeous, and guess what--it even stayed alive. This blog is all about loving your little landscape.

Creative Ways Brick Work Can Bring Style and Character to Your Outdoor Living Space

by Charlotte White

If your outdoor space is boring and lacks design style, using brick work services to bring your living space to life is a wise investment for the beauty of your home. Brick work will enhance nearly any decorating theme and can be used to add durable outdoor elements to your backyard and garden. Whether you choose to have a lovely brick garden path built or opt for a brick accent or privacy wall, you will not regret adding the beauty of brick to your outdoor space.

Practical and Pretty Pathways

What could be more charming than walking on a brick pathway through a flower garden? Both practical and pretty, brick garden pathways will add beauty to your backyard but also provide you with safe access to your garden so you can perform gardening chores. Brick pathways can be made simple to enhance a modern farmhouse style home or elegant and sophisticated to add charm to a Victorian or cottage style home.

Accent and Privacy Walls

Why settle for a boring wooden privacy fence when you can have a brick privacy wall designed that will last for years to come? Not only will your brick privacy wall look great, but you can also use it as an interesting focal point by planting flowers and shrubs in front of it. Accent walls constructed of brick make an interesting addition along a garden border or behind a patio to add height and dimension to the area.

Mailbox Surrounds and Pedestals

Even the simplest brick work can make a drastic difference in your yard. Brick mailbox surrounds not only protect your mailbox from the elements and vandalism, but they also look charming and add a pop of color to your outdoor space. Brick pedestals can be designed to hold a birdbath or you can have multiple pedestals constructed to hold large plants in decorative pots.

Flooring and Foundations

Replace an old concrete patio for one constructed of brick work to add a warm and charming appeal to your outdoor area for relaxing or entertaining. If you cannot get enough of succulents, bricks make great supports for succulent plants. Have a succulent garden designed with brick work by leaving a small space between the bricks to make the perfect foundation for your succulents to thrive.

If you are looking to give your outdoor space a makeover, brick work will not disappoint. Whether you choose to add a simple garden path made of brick or a pedestal for a birdbath, beautifully designed brick work will add character and design style to any outdoor space.
